Hi Cstock and Railtechnician, my father used to work at Acton putting underground trains back together and i started at 55 Broadway.........however enough of me, someone point me in the direction or the bar and i'll shout everyone a drink apart from cstock as a young man of 18 i think you should stick to the soft drinks.......

Q I see, I started at Whitechapel Signal New Works in 1977 and finished at Acton Bollo House Tube Lines Signal Maintenance in 2005. These days isn't everyone supposed to be on the soft drinks since D&A which closed the many bars that once existed all over the combine on stations (both staff and public bars) and offices (I used to enjoy a few jars in the bars at 55 and Telstar House in the 1980s). The only station watering hole I can think of that was still open was the Lord Aberconway at Liverpool Street although I'm pretty certain the door off the ticket hall straight into the pub had been bricked up. Eight years into retirement and another five years to go before I can collect state old age pension I am a teetotaller 361 days of the year and allow myself one pint of real ale on the other four days.

Hi Railtech, i do remember the bar at 55 Broadway, i was too young to drink when i started there, so we went over to the Feathers (next to Scotland Yard) and had drinks in there instead...lol. So it's soft drink all round then...

Q It's one (+ve or -ve, I can't remember) of the coupling circuit breakers in the tunnel at Kennington. Normally, open, it can be closed to join the NB CX branch (Kennington to Lambeth) and NB City branch (Stockwell to Elephant & Castle) traction current sections together if required. For operational reasons, this is very rarely used.

I have known one or two lemons at LT/LU over the decades and they seemed to be oblivious to the fact themselves!
