When this station opened did the scissors crossover have movable angles. Have they been removed and if so what date was this done ?

When the Jubilee opened in 1979 there were moveable angles (5w) According to my records they were removed 5/7/82. Charing Cross IMR was a funny frame they took the release away.

Thanks for your reply, what made me asked this question was some photos of the diagram in Finchley Road signal cabin. At Charing Cross station 5 sets of indications of points were shown, but one indication was covered over by a white strip of tape, also next to the scissors crossover was another strip of tape covering something. Re the release how could a release be taken ?

Re the release how could a release be taken ? When something was altered the diagram had to be amended for small alterations a large amendment would mean a new diagram. The release was made automatic through altering the circuits hence dispensing with the lever.

Thanks for your reply. So the release lever became a spare, and to take a release the button would be pulled up and after 2 minutes the release was effective. Do you know why the moveable angles were abolished ?

Do you know why the moveable angles were abolished ? Lever 7 became spare they did secure in the normal position the date I have is 8/96. What would happen the route would be cancelled and after 2 mins (although some sites were quicker that was the average time) the levers would return to normal. I can't remember the reason they took them out also at Heathrow and Brixton, still have some at Harrow but they will go at some stage.
