Camden Town NB junction - NB City to Edgware and NB CX to Barnet branch at the same time, passing at the branch crossover is quite tight. Although not shown in exact detail on the CartoMetro map, both NB branches curve in slightly at the crossover then out again (a bit like an hourglass). When observing this from within a car, the train appears to move close to the other train then move away again. It's not so noticeable in the same way from the cab.
I think that there is a similar thing on the south between a SB City from Barnet and a SB CX from Edgware, but not so noticeable as the CX branch is almost straight and the speed of the departing trains is slower.
Although a different scenario and not close tracks, from the cab of a SB train sitting at Moorgate SB platform, a NB train from Bank approaching Moorgate at the side of the old scissors crossover south of Moorgate appears to be aiming straight for the SB platform, until it suddenly swerves to the left on the bend to the NB platform. It can also be a bit off-putting for a split second when driving a NB train to see a SB train starting to leave Moorgate.

Can you see from the platforms at Camden what you are saying? I can imagine being on a train when one on the other track is along side.

No. Whilst you could see the NB City train approach round the curve for platform 1, I'm certain that you can't see the sides of both trains from platform 1 because of the because of the tailwall and the section of tunnel behind it - i.e. there is no head on view of the two approaching trains in a similar way as shown in the clip. The approach to platform 3 between the crossover and platform 3 has more of a bend to it than the approach to platform 1, which restricts the view further. A similar thing applies to the SB trains.
It can be especially noticeable NB from the driving cab of either the City or CX train if both trains happen to be lined up cab to cab as they approach each other as, for a split second, the other cab appears next to yours and then moves away again as the track curves away.
