Good day all.
My name is Graham and until a week ago I was a signal engineer working for the Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB), prior to that I was doing various jobs for Network Rail, Railtrack and British Rail starting back in 1974 as a signalman.
Now I'm retired and therefore busier than ever before! My interest is in signalling both from the signalman's point of view and also from the technical point of view. I have a particular interest in the early power signalling schemes both in the UK and across the world.
I am a involved with a number of groups connected with preservation of signalling equipment and own the Westinghouse L power frame from Battersea Park Junction along with a section of the K frame from London Bridge. The L frame used to be on a 2 foot gauge railway in Bedfordshire but that railway is no more and so the frame is currently in store to be re-used on a new 2 foot gauge line which is being built not far from the old one. The K style frame will be joining it at a later date.
I recently had the pleasure of testing the Malden and District Society of Model Engineers 96 lever power frame made up partly of a N style frame and partly an L style frame.
So that is me.
Graham

Hi Graham and welcome to the Forum.
You'll find we're a happy bunch here and talk about anything, not necessarily transport.
I'm sure you'll find some of our signalling threads interesting, we have our resident Railtechnician whom I'm sure you'll be swapping anecdotes with.
I'm guessing you've come over here from the Link I posted elsewhere under my real name.
GJ.

Graham,
Welcome, nice to have another technical type on the forum although as I approach the end of my tenth year in retirement I am getting rather rusty especially as traditional LT signalling is slowly but surely being consigned ever faster to B1N !

Graham Welcome Graham, nice to have another signal engineer on this board. I have been to the Malden and District SME box some years ago when the 96 lever frame was being put back together. If you are looking to help in the Epping LT box, there is a large N style frame to be put back together.
