Whilst the situation with terminating trains isn't ideal on the Bakerloo, from my experience minutes ago I don't exactly think staff are helping themselves.
Just tried to get off a terminator at Queens Park, driver closes the doors as people are still getting off.
I don't mean I was the last person off, there was still a stream exiting at the doorway, that should have clearly been visible on the monitor.
I decided to put my foot in the doors, but I was thinking of pulling the passenger alarm to be an ar$e.
Staff complain about the amount of overcarries, you could cut the number by letting people get off!
Rant over.

Two choices: Pull the alarm straight away or Wait to see if the driver re-opens the doors. If they don't and the train moves, then operate the passenger alarm - this is the best option.
It's not unknown for a driver to accidently close the doors if they've got a trigger-happy finger hovering over the close button, however they are monitoring the doors / platform on the CCTV and it should be obvious if there are still people getting off. On a packed platform where the passengers are hanging around near the train, it isn't always easy to see what's happening. Also, of course, there is the odd occasion where a passenger may be slow getting to the doors, such as a disabled person or, more likely, somebody with headphones on who has only just realised that everybody's got off the train and they should have as well.
This is an example where it is a perfectly valid reason for operating the alarm, If operated as soon as the train starts to puul away and the train stops, the train should still be fully in the platform. Use talkback to tel the driver the reason and they should be able to open the doors again. (This may vary depending on the stock and line).
Whilst an emergency alarm should never be used for silly things and, depending on the reason, it is best to operate it once the train has got to the next station and thus avoiding any unnecessary stop in between statiosn (such as smoke in the car, passenger ill etc.), too many people are scared to use it for genuine reasons because of the notice threatening fine / prosecution.

Not in the old sense, but a SS walked the length of the train before it went, gave us a right dirty look like it was our fault we were trapped inside the train!
