Pay band 2 – 18 Month Secondment
If you combine an interest in WW1 history with a knowledge of museum working objects, this role could have been made for you. You’ll be working for a world class visitor attraction, adding some unique experience to your CV and contributing to an exciting learning and participation programme which will help bring history to life for people of all ages.
The role
Based in the Curatorial team at London Transport Museum, you’ll support the development and delivery of a Heritage Lottery funded project which will focus on the restoration of an early 20th century B-type bus to operational condition. This will include everything from researching the history of B-type buses and their components, overseeing the conservation programme and monitoring contractors to delivering associated learning and participation activities, managing the logistics of the bus’ involvement in events and creating an information guide. Documenting all aspects of the restoration, dealing with media enquiries and facilitating access for stakeholders, funders and project participants will also be a vital part of the job.
What you’ll need
Qualified by degree or equivalent experience, you’ll have proved you can manage large, complex projects, control budgets and work with a wide range of stakeholders. Enthusiastic, confident and self-motivated, your flexible, proactive approach and ability to get the best from people will be complemented by outstanding communication, relationship building and organisational skills.
The post is offered on a full time, secondment for 18 months.
