These trains aren't that old. I'm surprised they have been refurb end already. The A and D stock were over 30 years before getting refurbed. Not bad looking though.

I think you will find unlike other stock that Alstom own the stock (rather than LU) therefore we don't actually have much control of what happens to the fleet other than what was written in the contract when it was signed.
Modern trains (1990+) tend to have a life span of 35-40 years and have mid life overhauls around 15 years.
