Live Update 11:29
No service between Highbury & Islington and West Croydon/ Crystal Palace/ Clapham Junction/ New Cross while we help a person ill on a train at Shadwell.
According to Transportdirect, this was first logged at 09:35. Was the LO suspension from 09:35?, if so has the service started running again / when did it restart?. If Transportdirect is correct and it did start at 09:35, then nearly two hours is a long while for US to be helping at PIOT.

Why is the whole of the ELL suspended because of this? I can understand that it may not be possible to reverse on the NR tracks, and it doesn't help that Shadwell is a reversing point, but why can't some form of service be run between Clapham Junction or West Croydon and Canada Water. I'm sure that some trains could still be reversed there yet still remain on the existing LO path over NR tracks.

11:48 Open Train Times www.opentraintimes.com/maps/signalling/NX/1is currently showing that there is a service running on their ELL diagram (only Highbury & Islington - New X New X Gate is shown on the diagram), albeit with gaps in the service. Live update is still showing all the ELL as suspended.

At 11:55, live update was showing that the service had resumed, but was then suspended Still showing suspended at 12:21: "No service between Surrey Quays and West Croydon/ New Cross/ Crystal Palace while we fix a signal failure at New Cross Gate." If the details shown on RealTimeTrains is correct: www.realtimetrains.co.uk/search/basic?location=Surrey+Quays&time=0952&date=26%2F03%2F2013&plushour=1(details valid for today only) Cancellations did indeed start from around 09:45, but there were trains running from Surrey Quays (reversing N-S at Canada Water) and there appeared to be the occasional through train, although I'm not sure if they were stuck trains that were being moved and / or bi-directional working. 12:35 Trains are now running to West Croydon / Crystal Palace, but with severe delays as WE are still fixing the signal failure.

Some poor bugger had a heart attack on the train, hence the lengthy suspension.
