Just wondering if there is an official way to get to IMRs, what I mean is the ones that are not on platforms etc so Bromley do you walk to it and if so what route do you take. Others also Hanger Lane Junction, Ruislip and there are more. I suspect people catch a train but if there is a failure the trains will not always be running.

Northern line: Morden is from the staff car park Stockwell has the IMR in the disused C&SLRly tunnel. The official walkway is from the passenger passage to the SB Northern platform, then via a narrow tunnel walkway (shielded from the track) and along the disused siding High Barnet is accessed via the sidings walkway, Finchley Central is via the official track crossing near platform 1 East Finchley is via the gate near the west passenger entrance to the station Edgware is via a walkway off platform 1 Golders Green south is via the depot walkway, north is via platform 1 or the slip road at the rear

Going by the Jubilee line they had the old signals up for a number of years I think they have started removing them but I don't know about the old equipment rooms though.

I understand that it is not always possible to have a proper footpath. I have looked at some and wondered why there is no proper footpath like Bromley there is a road right by it but no gate and steps so like you say they have to walk the track? There are a number that seem to be difficult to access, if the trains are running there is no problem.
