The link leads nowhere! Perhaps the owner has turned off his server. Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to www.microlp.co.uk

Just tried and the home page is working OK from IE8 and Firefox: www.microlp.co.uk/Homea/I haven't got Chrome installed as, on principle, I try to use certain Google elements due to their cavalier attitude to privacy in the past. (Although Google have their fingers in so many pies it's unavoidable. I believe my e-mail provider hived their services off to Google to run).

The link is working now because the server/content is online/available again! It was not available/online when I made my comment. I have all the browsers installed on my PCs. These days I regard Chrome as the best with Firefox not far behind, Safari and Opera have their uses for accessing particular websites such as Ancestry. Internet Explorer has been going downhill ever since the upgrades from IE4. As for privacy there is nothing online that is safe or private, if one person has access then everyone can have access, it is simply a matter of discovering/creating the method !

I take it for granted that nothing of what I do on the internet (on whatever browser I use) is private, the same with e-mails. Indeed, the ISP kepps a record of everything for X months (or is it years now!) and GCHQ no doubt have a record of everything I've done since I was born :-)
However, my problem with Google is the way google have acted in the past on privacy issues. I cn't remember exactly what they were now, but I think it was to do with e-mail addresses being passed on to other google users when google amended or brought out a new product. I seem to remember that there was a similar thing with Facebook, another company that doesn't take its members privacy seriously.

I seem to remember that there was a similar thing with Facebook, another company that doesn't take its members privacy seriously. It is true true that Google was not in the least concerned about privacy but it was quite overt in what it did. Many other organisations are also unconcerned about an individual's privacy but are quite covert about the position. Google is no worse than Microsoft or other companies in that regard although that is not the general impression. Of course internet providers are the tip of the iceberg, British Gas, the other utilities and the banks are no better in some ways either passing client details and preferences to 'associated third parties' unless expressly forbidden from doing so. As for Twitter and Facebook I have nothing to do with them at all and probably never will.
