As some of you will be aware Cravens Heritage Trains has held a Lease on Epping Cabin for over 10 years, the plan was/is to have a nice signalling museum there with a model railway in the Relay Room operated from the frame.
The Frame was removed in error so CHT members dismantled the 83 Lever Frame from Hainault and transported it in a kit of parts to Epping in order to 'put a frame in'.
Enthusiasm waned after I left to live in France and has never really picked up although I'm sure if those with a passion for signalling came forward the project could be revived. I don't live in France now and would gladly travel down South to lend a hand.
Anyone?

I would love to get involved but just not enough hours in the day it would affect what other things I get involved in.

If we could get a half dozen dedicated to the cause it would work, just finding those other few.

I would be interested in helping to put the frame back together again. If we could get a half dozen dedicated to the cause it would work, just finding those other few. If I still lived in Edmonton, North London I'd be there just as I would be a volunteer at EOR. Unfortunately living north of Lincoln there is no way I could afford to travel to Epping. My mileage these days is limited to about 1000 miles per annum or one round trip to Lincoln per week to do my shopping, go to hospital appointments etc. The price of motoring is prohibitive on my pension, when I first moved here I had a reasonable disposable income every month but since 2008 that has been squeezed to such a point that I am now only kept solvent by very careful budgetting. It'll be another four years before my company pension gets supplemented by old age pension if indeed there will still be an old age pension then! In any case since having bowel cancer in 2011 and subsequent surgery I seldom go beyond a 20 mile radius of home these days and as a result have dropped all my outside pursuits in favour of indoor hobbies.

I can fully understand your reasons RT, life changing indeed. Rebuilding the Lever Frame at Epping is a young (ish) mans' job as the main frame structure is mighty heavy something I didn't have a problem with when we removed it but some days now I'd have a job lifting a tea spoon what with the back and hip problems I've got. Travelling for me is OK although I do live in Shropshire so I wouldn't be going down every weekend but I'd make the effort as long as we can get half a dozen involved.
