They're about a train length before each fast platform; once you spot them you have plenty of time to stop.

Well, it appears their revival may have been short-lived; the Westbound set were not working on Monday evening!

They lasted about that long when they 'fixed' them when I was there. Maybe another 10 years then!

That's interesting - I had thought that these indicators could also, prior to the advent of full radio coverage, be used in times of disruption on the District, to advise Picc drivers that a call at TG was required. Unless my memory fails me I'm certain i have seen them (or at least the WB one) working more recently than in the last ten years, but then time flies so fast these days that I may well be mistaken!

They were reinstated by request within the last 4 weeks or thereabouts.... They stopped working again, but that was probably because of them being turned off due to a good old case of 'the left hand not knowing what the right hand was doing' (surely not?!) and I believe that they have since been reinstated. Again.
