New Facebook - based South Midlands Transport organisation called Re-open the Cheltenham to Kingham railway line to link with East West Rail
If Cheltenham to Kingham railway were reinstated (with *deviations* where old line has been re-developed since closure in 1962), there would be a direct line from London to Oxford and Gloucestershire, which would greatly improve transport links from Oxford to the Cotswolds.
East West Rail aims to provide through rail services Oxford to Bedford by 2020. Worcester is already connected to Oxford via North Cotswold line. No through rail service from Cheltenham to Oxford. Cheltenham - Kingham that could have offered trains via the North Cotswold line to Oxford was listed for closure in the Beeching Report and closed 1962. If with Cheltenham to Kingham railway were reinstated, then there would be a link from Gloucestershire to East West Rail.

For some reason, this post was duplicated in a separate thread on the board. I've removed the duplicated post.

I haven't had a good look yet, but I suspect that it's just a few trainspotters spouting off their dreams. Like the plan to re-open Croxley Green - Watford Junction using PPMs. And the group of 15 year olds trying to raise £90,000 to buy a bubble car.
