From the Past P1Holloway Reveolving Passenger ConveyorInstalled at Holloway Road in preparation for the station opening in 1906, but never used. Can't think why!. Imagine getting on that after a night on the town or during an Arsenal match crush. from [ Grace's guide ] Most of this was ripped out decades ago, however, the bottom few feet were still in situ in the 1980s and could still be seen through a grille opposite one of the platforms. I had no idea what was behind the grille until I had to run a cable up the emergency staircase, to provide communications to the revenue protection offices above the station, the staircase being built in the old spiral escalator shaft. At the time reaching the lower landing from the ticket hall I was greeted with a warning notice and fenced scaffold boards, the warning was to stay on the boards and not step out onto the tarmac floor as it was unsafe, the remants of the spiral escalator being directly beneath. AFAIK not long afterward the remaining parts were recovered and sent to Acton depot museum and the floor in the shaft made safe.
