OPO, This site might be of interest V framesInteresting, I haven't seen this before, the name that jumped off the pages was Frank Tuite. I had no idea that he had passed on but, when I think about it, had he still been alive he'd probably have been at least 90 years old now. He was the Whitechapel New Works locking fitter during my two years there in the late 1970s and I know he was still around in the 1980s as I saw him in IMRs where I was installing comms.

Did ever meet Robert Dell ? No, he had retired before I joined LT although he was alive for about a dozen years thereafter. Nevertheless he was a legend and often talked about in regard to the innovations he introduced to LT signalling through the years. Another legend was a chap called Alf Thomas who worked his way up from wireman to signal engineer and reputedly designed/redesigned circuits on site off the top of his head on signal changeovers where DO designed circuitry didn't work correctly for some reason. I have to say that such legends are not unique, in my years I knew one or two apprentices who I am sure would match them in the modern era given the opportunity but of course the whole fabric of LUL engineering seems more without LUL than within it nowadays.

John Tilley's web site, I hope he finishes it as it has been a few years in the making.

Not sure those will be updated by John, he has had some health problems and he may not have time to up date the article. The Brixton frame is at a site in the Midlands. Also all of the Victoria Line diagrams from the old control room at Euston have been moved to the site in the Midlands . The display may be open next year but I have been asked not to make it Public yet as it's a work in progress .

Not too sure about John's health but he is active on other forums but he has been doing the V frame for quite a few years. He does consultancy work also. Regarding the Victoria line equipment I think your post gives the game away although no date but would go for the start of the season and I bet if you check out transport attractions in the Midlands it may be possible to find the location.
