I understand the train will be going in and leaving by rail! I thought the connection had been cut?

The connection is there, but the running rails are moved apart to ensure any train derails.

The connection is there, but the running rails are moved apart to ensure any train derails. So on the night there will be a T/O waiting to reset various bits after the train has gone on to the branch and the same will happen when it leaves.

Yep indeedy they will, FRL's down in the 4 foot and TCI's to reset. It's going to be interesting down there as the leading Battery will need to be uncoupled. Assuming the x over (11) is workable the loco could go down the old East Siding, normalise the x over then the Schoma-Cravens-Schoma can move on to the branch leaving the rear Battery in situ.then reverse the procedure to get the other Battery out and couple up. Where the Battery's are going to be stabled I don't know, maybe Hainault or 21rd. Loughton.

I forgot about the TCIs I was thinking about the PLC or is that not affected due to the time that the move is working.

Would be so much easier to run the battery locos to North Weald and shunt around there, surely? Those points at Epping have not been used since the red lights were put in, at least 10 years ago.

Cracking pictures. The first one is how I'd seen it with the track spread.
Is LW 2 still there, amazing if it is?

Those were taken in late 2011, I'm not sure if the signal is still there now, as can be seen from the photo it needed saving urgently and there was talk of storing it until it is needed again. I will try and find out for you.
